What you need to know
I would have given up anything to enjoy the sunlight.
No, I wasn’t doing hard time. But I was a prisoner of my poor health.
That was me in 2015. My eczema flared to the point where a little bit of sweat would send me into a Tasmanian Devil scratching frenzy. What was even worse was that the topical and oral steroids weren’t working anymore. Uh-oh. I was a mess. Quit my job. Financial future was unknown. Strained relationships. Now what?
Fast forward a few years later, I’m back on my feet, feeling great, comfortable in my living space and my skin, eating well, lifting weights, playing tennis with a great group of friends, and have a woman I love dearly.
I wish I could reveal a ‘Magic Bullet’, or a ‘Top 5’ listicle that did the trick. But what it came down to was changing small things, consistently, over time. Looking back, the sum of those small things reshaped my life, in more ways than just eczema.
The details of that horrible time in my life deserves more than just a blog post, so we’ll save it for another day.
The important takeaway is this: HEALTH is NUMBER 1. Don’t ever take it for granted.
Once it has been taken away, you lose all the magnificence in life. You lose energy, your confidence. Your career is unfocused. You are constantly in fear of your diet, your medicine. You’re constantly searching. It hurts your relationships because all you focus on is yourself. It affects ALL other aspects of your life.
Health. Let your energy focus on building this foundation first. Once you have this well oiled machine humming, be prepared to steamroll into personal finance, investing, inner strength, and your relationship with the energy of a locomotive.
I’ve written this blog to show where I started, what I did, what I focused on, and where it may lead. I hope your experience here will inspire you to take those steps, no matter how small, because any step towards a Magnificent Life is worth sharing.
